These last few months have felt so crazy for everyone with the Covid-19 crisis. Part of the craziness for me is how much I have MISSED documenting families. So, shooting this lifestyle newborn session (with tons of precautions of course!) was the best feeling after being a shut-in for the last few months.
Baby Lily was born three short weeks ago, and her family is absolutely smitten with her. Her room was an adorable mix of navy and coral, with plenty of beautiful pops of white! I think I have mentioned in past blog posts how much I LOVE seeing what the baby’s nursery looks like! Seeing the details that the parents have put together is one of my favorite things!
During our session, we talked about how important it is to capture the nursery details during a lifestyle newborn session!
Lily’s Mom, Renee, told me how she recently learned that her mom had hand stenciled paintings onto the walls in her nursery. She said how she would have loved to see it now. Sadly, it had never been photographed! So much planning and work goes into making the perfect room for the baby to come home to. In some cases, it is NEVER documented! These little details are so important to remember. Things change so quickly with little ones, and looking back on these photos will be a little time capsule of sorts. Sorry, I will get off my soapbox about preserving memories now!
I simply cannot continue to write the blog post about this sweet family without mentioning big brother, Lynn. He is a spunky two year old who loves his new baby sister. He was certainly the life of the party for our session. The little guy did a great job of keeping Mom and Dad busy, and me entertained! Lynn showed me how fast he can run (it’s very fast!), scared me with his incredible RAWR, and even kept himself entertained reading some pop-up books. He is one smart little boy!
