A Surprise Proposal | Jason + Tori

Jason knocked it out of the park with his surprise proposal on the most beautiful, sunny day!

She never saw it coming!

Jason and Tori are friends of ours, and they arrived under the premise that we were just having a normal get together. Tori thought that we would be taking photos of the kids (we are both photographers) and each other’s families. So when I showed up with my camera bag it didn’t seem out of the ordinary.

I won’t lie, I was super nervous! This is not the first surprise proposal I’ve shot, and each time still makes my stomach flutter with excitement! This one was extra hard because the park we were at had about a million people walking around. Okay, I may be slightly exaggerating, but seriously, it was crazy! As soon as people started to clear a bit, it was go-time! I explained to Tori that I LOVE shots of families walking toward me while they laugh and giggle (which is totally true!). So I instructed her to walk away with Gemma to get some of those shots, “Mommy and Me” style. When she got to the end of the path, I told Tori to turn around.

Jason was on one knee, waiting.

At first, she didn’t know what to think. She thought he might just be kneeling there watching them walk HAHA! She quickly realized that he was not just kneeling there. Jason had a gorgeous sparkly ring in his hand, and he was waiting for her to make her way back to him so he could pop the question!

The emotion from both her and her adorable daughter, Gemma, was overwhelming. I was shooting these photos through tears. Just take a look and see for yourself. The happiness all over Gemma’s little face may even make you tear up! It was that sweet…
