This summer wedding at Venue One Eleven is everything Katelyn and Travis dreamed of! Their June 18th, 2022 wedding was sunny, warm, and absolutely stunning. Surrounded by their family and friends, Kate and Travis tied the knot in the most beautiful courtyard. Their officiant kept the ceremony fun with little quips about sports. The whole thing was perfect, all the way down to Katelyn and Travis’ secret handshake before the kiss that sealed the deal!!
A wedding at Venue One Eleven never disappoints. From the beautiful “getting ready” suites, to the gorgeous courtyard, and allllll of the white walls (this Michigan wedding photographer’s dream)… it is the perfect place to host the party of your life. It only seems fitting that Katelyn and Travis chose this as the place they would begin their journey as husband and wife. The venue was originally a school, but you would NEVER guess that! This is fitting for my beautiful couple because 1. Katelyn is a teacher (and an amazing one!). and 2. Their love story began when they were still in high school!
When Katelyn agreed to go along to a bowling alley with one of her best friends in high school, she never could have imagined that she would be meeting her future husband! You see, Kate’s best friend happened to be dating one of Travis’ close friends, so he was there that night as well. This is how they met – and the rest is history!!
Fast forward to September of 2020, on a trip to Kate’s family cabin for labor day weekend. The setting was perfect with all of her family standing on the cabin deck. Travis walked her to the dock and got down on one knee. Making for the perfect proposal on a beautiful holiday weekend.
When we began planning their engagement session, I went in fully prepared to work hard. Katelyn warned me that Travis doesn’t care for having photos taken. BUT, he surprised me because it turns out he is just naturally great at having his photos taken! It wasn’t hard at all to get the most amazing, genuine, romantic engagement photos for these two. Over the course of their session, we bonded over mine and Kate’s shared love for New Girl, Schitt’s creek, and trips to Target. Along with the fact that Travis loves riding dirtbikes, something that my husband also loves. We also had some laughs about a recent radio episode that Travis and I both happened to hear. It was about ticks… we won’t go into it here. Just know, it was hilarious.
