Last summer, I had the honor of capturing Jacob and Jessica’s beautiful wedding at Venue3Two Grand Rapids. As a photographer, I’ve seen all kinds of weddings, from the grandest celebrations to intimate gatherings that are all about love and connection. And let me tell you, there’s something truly magical about micro weddings. Especially when they’re as sweet and heartfelt as this one.
Venue3Two is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the city. It’s the kind of place that feels both elegant and cozy, with lush greenery and beautiful touches that create the perfect backdrop for any wedding. And for this particular couple, it was a dream come true. Jessica and Jacob met in college, and she just knew that their fairytale romance deserved a location such as this.
When I arrived in the morning, there was a light rain falling outside. But the bride and groom didn’t seem to mind one bit. They were too excited to let a little weather dampen their spirits. And let me tell you, Jessica was an absolute vision. She wore a fairytale ballgown that made her look like a princess straight out of a storybook. And her bouquet! Oh, don’t get me started on her bouquet. It was filled with whimsical spring colors that perfectly complemented her gown and the lush greenery of the venue. Jacob looked pretty dapper himself, I must say. He wore a black suit and a big smile that never left his face.
As the day went on, the rain stopped and the sun started to peek out from behind the clouds. It was like the universe knew that this was a special day and wanted to join in on the celebration. The ceremony was beautiful, with heartfelt vows that had everyone tearing up. And then it was time to party!
Even though it was a micro wedding, the luncheon reception was full of joy and laughter. There was an amazing spread of charcuterie and a delicious taco bar. Who doesn’t love tacos, amiright?!
In the end, this intimate summer micro wedding was everything that weddings should be: full of love, joy, and connection. And as I looked through my camera lens, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to be a part of such a special day.
