I have said it over and over again, I love doing photos at Kensington Metropark. So that seemed like the perfect place to do these very special maternity photos.
I had the privilege of photographing not one, but TWO sweet families at this session. Both are expecting tiny new additions in August. The sweetest part about it? These ladies are sisters, and are due only three days apart from each other! What are the odds!?!? You might already recognize Jamie’s beautiful family. I have been photographing them since her first son was born, and it has been so much fun watching their family grow! This is one of the best parts of my job. I get to meet and photograph the most beautiful families. Keeping in touch and photographing all of their special moments makes them start to feel like my own family. For this shoot, I also got to meet and photograph Jamie’s sister, Meghan. She is as nice and beautiful as can be! She and her husband are SO VERY EXCITED to be welcoming their first child.
We did these photos the day before Mother’s day (very fitting, I know!) … Anyone who lives in Michigan knows that this spring has been kind of gloomy and cold.
One of the reasons Kensington Metropark is one of my favorite places to do photos (especially maternity ones where we can’t do too much walking around) is because there is a huge variety of locations in a small area.
We only got about 30 minutes of portraits in before the rain rolled in, and it became so cold that these poor mamas were freezing! Despite the time constraints, we got plenty of variety in their photos, because of the wonderful variety in locations that I just mentioned. I am so happy they stuck it out, and I think that we got some really gorgeous photos. If you look really carefully you may even find a little bird that popped in for a picture on the boardwalk for one of Meghan’s photos! Please enjoy the beautiful gallery from this session!
